IAEA-SO-5 aims at calibrations on the VCDT scale for δ34S.
IAEA-SO-5 is a barium sulfate prepared by R. Krouse (University of Calgary, Canada) and S. Halas (University of Lublin, Poland) by precipitation from sulfate solutions [1].
The isotopic δ34S value of the reference material IAEA-SO-5 is based on interlaboratory comparisons. The material is often used for δ33S calibrations, but this value is not officially agreed.
Analyte | Value | Unit | SD | R/I/C |
δ34S | +0.5 | ‰VCDT | 0.2 | R |
(R/I/C) Classification assigned to the property value for analyte (Recommended/Information/Certified)
