IAEA-S-2 aims at realisation of the VCDT scale for δ34S.
IAEA-S-2 silver sulfide was prepared by B. W. Robinson (Lower Hutt, New Zealand) based on natural gypsum.
Description of the material, its intended use, results of the characterisation and the values assignment can be found in the Reference Sheet. The material is supplied as 0.5 g units in glass vials with a plastic cup.
The material is often used for δ33S calibrations, but this value is not officially agreed (see Reference Sheet)
