The reference material IAEA-610 (CaCO₃), similarly as the reference materials IAEA-611 and IAEA-612, can serve as second scale-anchor together with IAEA-603 for realization of the VPDB δ¹³C scale.

The reference materials IAEA-610, IAEA-611 and IAEA-612 were prepared with the aim to replace the reference material LSVEC and to address requirements for all possible applications including the strictest requirements for δ¹³C in greenhouse gas observations. Description of the material, its intended use, results of the characterisation and the values assignment can be found in the Reference Sheet. The material IAEA-610 is supplied as 0.5 g units in flame sealed glass ampoules.
